Welcome to Zatoun: Fair Trade Olive Oil from Palestine. Zatoun may be a new name to you but it has been around since 2003 - one of the first group to offer fair trade Palestinian olive oil to Canadians and Americans.

The Zatoun "tent" has just become a lot bigger with the merging of Import Peace and Zatoun. Peter Mann who founded Import Peace in 2007 and Zatoun have been on friendly cooperative terms from the start. When Peter decided to "retire" from hauling 100's of cases he asked Zatoun to service his loyal customers with the same wonderful oil but this time bearing the "Zatoun" label.

Happily, Peter will continue to be involved - he can now concentrate all his time on what he does best - being and speaking with people about fair trade, olive oil and the need to support Palestinian farmers.   Please contact Peter at <peter@zatoun.com>.

Zatoun is a registered non-profit, volunteer-based and board run. Over the last 7 years, it has sold over 140,000 bottles and used some of the proceeds to donate $111,000 to planting almost 28,000 olive tree saplings inside the West Bank and over $124,000 towards Project Hope which brings "art as therapy" learning and healing to young people living inside the four refugee camps located in Nablus, the largest Palestinian city after Jerusalem.
